Choosing the Right Filament: A Guide to 3D Print Materials

Filament choice decides how your part looks, how it behaves, and how long it lasts. Start with the job the part has to do, then match the material to it.

PLA is the default for a reason: crisp detail, zero warp, and a matte finish that photographs beautifully. Choose it for concept models, display pieces, and anything that lives indoors on a desk.

PETG adds temperature resistance and toughness for functional parts like brackets, housings, and organizer sets. ASA goes further still, with UV stability for anything that lives outdoors or in a hot car.

For load-bearing work, carbon-filled nylon and polycarbonate deliver stiffness close to molded plastic, at the cost of trickier printing. Tell us the loads, the environment, and the finish you want, and we will spec the right spool before the first layer goes down.
